WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEEF JERKY AND BILTONG?
The T.Forrest Buffalo Jerky is technically Biltong, but made from 100% Buffalo. We have chosen to call it jerky for simplicity. While both are dried meat dog treats, there are a couple of differences:
Jerky is typically processed at higher temperatures and often includes sugars or marinades for flavour.
Biltong is slowly air dried, high protein and lower in salt and sugar.
Rest assured, our Buffalo Jerky is a very high quality product using biltong methods, we have simply opted for the name 'Jerky' because it is more widely recognised.
